Preheat oven to 350°F.
Bring raisins and water to a boil remove from heat and let set.
Cream Crisco and sugar. Add eggs one at a time and then the vanilla.
Add the dry ingredients.
Drain the raisins keeping the juice. Measure the juice and add enough water to make 1 cup. Add to mixture and mix well.
Stir in raisins
Roll dough into balls and bake for 10 minutes, no longer.
Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.
Ice when cool
